JOB POSTING – TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Bonivital Soccer Club (BVSC) is seeking a Technical Director to join their team.
Reporting to the Executive Director, and leading a team of Technical staff, the Technical Director is responsible for providing both technical and administrative support for the club’s technical programming, including coach development and education, player evaluations, team training, skill sessions, among other related tasks.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Technical
Planning and implementation of a comprehensive player and coach development program for BVSC
Overseeing recruitment of coaches at all levels
Working directly with club and district coaches to provide technical and training assistance
Organizing and leading coaching education and training clinics
Coordinating and running player development skills training sessions
Planning and implementation of the annual club evaluations
Refining and communicating information related to team formations, and coach responsibilities
Attending team practices and games to provide assistance, feedback and advice to club coaches
B. Administrative
Planning and managing the scheduling of:
Pooled training sessions for Developmental and Premier teams
Skills training coaches and camp coaches
Coach & player workshops (social/emotional, technical/tactical, etc.)
Assisting in the day to day soccer operations of BVSC programs
Fulfilling other duties as assigned
C. Leadership
1. Able to lead and direct staff
2. Able to set a standard for staff and volunteer coaches to follow
3. Communicate effectively
4. Conflict resolution
5. Collaborate in decision making
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Sport related Requirements
A National B License or a Provincial C Licence; a National B license is preferred, or otherwise, candidates must be willing to work towards and achieve a National B License within a year
5+ years' experience in coaching soccer at a youth or senior level
Certification as a Learning Facilitator, or equivalent experience to effectively oversee coach education programming plus a willingness to work towards becoming certified
Proven background in sports administration (preferably youth sport)
A track record of growing the enrollment of a recreational and/or premier soccer program(s).
On field experience as a former or current player is required
B. General Skills, Abilities and Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication with strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to think/plan strategically and practically to convert visions into reality
Excellent organizational strengths
A good working knowledge of office and sport based software (Microsoft suite and sport programming software)
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel
Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
A valid driver’s license
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
