bonivital Senior men's soccer team


Bonivital Soccer Club hosts a Senior men's team named Bonivital Flames. Bonivital plays in the Manitoba Major Soccer League (MMSL) Premier Division, and in the 2nd Division. The MMSL is a multi division league that uses a Promotion /Relegation process to establish its divisions. Bonivital has been a member of the league since 2004 and has been competing in the Premier Division since 2016. Bonivital's roster is typically made up of a wide age range of young men and would be 75-80% BVSC youth grads most seasons. If you have graduated from Winnipeg youth soccer, joining a seniors men's team is a great option to continue your soccer career!

Head Coach Andy Patton


Andy Patton is a dedicated Bonivital player and coach with extensive experience within soccer. His first experience with Bonivital was at 12 years old where he finished his last five years of playing youth soccer under Greg Nordman. After at 18, Andy left Bonivital to play Men's soccer with, at first, Roma Soccer club and then over to Granite United while he continued improving and learning about the game. It was at around 25 (2015), when Greg Nordman decided to come back and coach the Men’s Bonvitial Team, that Andy decided to join him which led to an 8 year & counting run with the Men’s Premier Team. 


In 2012, Andy achieved his greatest soccer accomplishment as a member of the Granite United Soccer Club when he was named the Manitoba Major Male Soccer Player of the Year after scoring 30 goals in 18 games. This, in a year where Desiree Scott was named the Female Recipient from her accomplishments at the London 2012 Olympics. 


As a member of the Bonivital Men’s Team, Andy has been the teams leading goal scorer for 6 of the 8 seasons that he’s played. His greatest team accomplishment as a member of Bonivital was being a part of an undefeated season in 2021, followed by a MSA cup final where the team fell short to Winnipeg Lions in the 90th minute. He is also proud to be named the Bonvital Player of the Year in 2024. 


Andy started Coaching while in university, running a Leisure Guide youth program (Ages 3-10) for six years. He then went on to be a Head Coach with a boys Phoenix Soccer Club for two years, followed by helping coach a boys South End Soccer Club alongside, Valour veteran player, Jose Galan. His coaching experience was elevated significantly by learning from a soccer player that has played professionally in 12 countries around the world. Andy is excited to coach Bonivital Men’s Team and pass along a lifetime of player & coaching experience to the team. His goal is to win an MSA cup with the Bonivital Soccer Club Men’s Team. A goal that has eluded him, his whole playing & coaching career.

2nd Division

Head Coach Keith Driedger


Keith Driedger is a dedicated and seasoned soccer coach with over 25 years of experience, having started his coaching career at Bonivital in 1997 with the Division 7 Flames. In 1998, he took on the role of assistant coach with the Division 6 Flames team, quickly demonstrating his commitment to the club. By 2002, he expanded his involvement by serving as the Equipment Manager for the Bonivital Flames, showcasing his versatility and dedication to supporting the team both on and off the field.


From 2003 to 2005, Keith coached the Division 3 Bonivital United Senior Men’s team and progressively took on more challenging roles, moving up to coach the Division 2 team in 2006 and the Division 1 team from 2007 to 2008. Between 2009 and 2012, he led the Premier Division 2 Bonivital United Senior Men’s team, and from 2013 to 2017, he served as the coach for the Premier Division 1 team, helping the team compete at a high level.


Most recently, from 2018 to 2023, Keith returned to coaching the Division 2 Bonivital Flames team. His dedication, knowledge, and longstanding service have made him a pillar within the Bonivital soccer community, known for his commitment to developing players and fostering a competitive spirit.
