Do you have an aspiring goalkeeper that is looking for some position specific training?
Help them develop their skills with a proper technical foundation, while having fun at the same time! For the last 20 years, I've been doing my best to help goalkeepers get to the next level of competition, from grassroots right up to National team and professional environments. And as much as the technical and tactical aspects are crucial to a goalkeeper's development, the enjoyment of playing the position is just as important. No matter the level, from recreational to professional, if playing the game and position don't bring you joy, why bother?
Bonivital has always been a great supporter and partner of my academy over the years and many of the club's goalkeepers have gone on to play at the collegiate or even professional level. These would include goalkeepers like, Madison Wilford (UofM, Swedish Professional League), Taryn Raabe, Madison Priebe, Jayda Mushinski (UofW), Cassidy Fedoruk (Current BVSC player and UofR commit), Evan Barker (UNB, FC Manitoba, World Collegiate Games), and Jacob Tsai (Current BVSC player and has already played a game for Valour F.C.'s first team.) There are more that got to these levels (so please don't be mad if you're reading this and don't see your name. Lol.)
Bonivital is a top-rated club in the city with a great vision for the development of their players! I've also been a part of this great club as a player or coach, since 1986. It brings me great pride to see the players from this club do well and succeed in their dreams. So, if you're Rec, D-League or Premier, there's a perfect spot for you in my academy! So, with that, I'm happy to announce the details of the 2022-23 Indoor Academy.
The academy will start on Tuesday, November 1st and Friday, November 4th, depending on the group, and runs for 16 sessions.
Training will be at WSF South (UofM) , on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Specific details are listed at the bottom of the page.
On Tuesdays, I have a 6:30-7:30pm time slot that I will designate for the older group, mostly 15 year olds to adult. On Fridays, we will train 5:30-7:30pm. The 5:30-6:30pm time slot will be the younger group and the 6:30-7:30pm slot will be the intermediate group. If you're wondering what group you are in, just reach
out and I'll let you know. Sometimes appropriate group placement is dependent upon who registers for the block.
Something to keep in mind is that I have to cap the groups at 14 goalkeepers, due to space constraints. The groups tend to fill up quite quickly, so registering early and for the entire block is typically your best bet on making sure you have a spot.
I'm also very excited to announce that because of the club's partnership in my academy, Bonivital goalkeepers' registration fees will be 25% subsidized by the club. So, instead of the academy costing $480, it will only cost $360 for all 16 sessions. That is a savings of $120! This really shows the club's exceptional vision for their players and their commitment to the players' developmental pathway!
In addition, if one sibling registers at full fee, another sibling can register at 50% off. This can hopefully ease the financial commitment a little bit in two goalkeeper families.
You are not obligated to register for all the Fridays but, I will obviously prioritize the people that would like to do that, first. That's only because it makes planning and grouping much easier. Having said that, you still can register on a week to week basis, if you'd like. There are typically a few drop in spots available on any given Friday.
This year there will also be a long sleeve academy training shirt that will be included when a goalkeeper registers for the entire block!
Registration this season will be done directly through me, by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org
