2021 Outdoor WYSA Recreational Information
NOTE: Lorette Soccer players please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for registration information
Outdoor soccer is available to players aged 9-18 (born in 2003 - 2012).
Players who are U9-U12 play in the Bonivital House league. The primary purpose of this age group is to expand on the LTPD (Long Term Player Development) program that starts with the Mini Soccer program.
The U13 – U18 play in a city-wide league organized by WYSA.
General information about outdoor soccer:
U9 – U12 (born 2012 to 2009) play two times per week in May and June. Matches are played on fields within the Bonivital Soccer district. Practice frequency and times are determined by individual coaches. No standings are tabulated during the season, and all matches will have officials assigned to them. All matches start at 6:00 or 7:15 PM.
U13 – U18 (born 2008 to 2003) will typically play two times per week and compete in a city-wide league which is organized by the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association. Matches are played on multiple fields across the city. Practice frequency and times are determined by individual coaches. Matches are played in May and June (possibly early July) with the Cambrian Challenge Cup (playoffs) in September. All matches start at 6:00 or 7:30 pm during the League portion of the season, and 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM in September due to light issues.
Please be advised that the U17 & U18 divisions will not play the last week of June due to graduation commitments.
U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17 teams will typically play their games on Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Sundays.
U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 teams will typically play on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays.
If the U17 and U18 age groups are combined, games will be played on the U17 playing nights.
The outdoor soccer season is tentatively slated to open at the beginning of May, but this may change depending on field conditions.
COACHES NEEDED: Parent coaches are the foundation of our soccer teams. In fact, the league doesn’t exist without them, so we ask that you strongly consider the possibility of stepping up for this important leadership role.
Coaches will complete the applicable coaching credential (often delivered over a weekend), along with ongoing support and access to resources. Not only will you be contributing to your child's development, you will be supporting the community too. Be part of this rewarding experience!
PLEASE NOTE: Rosters will be balanced for size and friend requests (must be mutual) will be considered.
