technical coordinator


Jean grew up playing soccer for the Olympique de Marseille (OM) soccer club in France. He played professionally with Sagesse FC in Lebanon, but an injury at age 24 saw him sidelined. Jean would channel his passion for soccer into coaching and subsequently coached in Lebanon for five years after his professional career.  Berchan has four years of experience coaching the Women’s Premier team for the Ottawa International Soccer Club (OISC; 2009-2013), after which he joined the Ottawa University women's soccer team Gee-Gees till 2023. During the time with the program the team won 3 provincial championships and 2018 U Sports women's soccer national championships. 2019 Champions FISU football world cup - Jinjiang, China.  2022 Champions FISU America - Mexico.

Jean served two years as Technical Director with École secondaire catholique Franco-Cité from 2013-2015 and was Technical Director for the OISC. Jean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Education and is certified in Advanced Fitness Assessment and Sports Conditioning; he also designed and developed the CUSP College and University soccer program for the OISC in 2013.

Berchan has earned two certificates from FC Barcelona University; the Certificate in Football Tactical Analysis (team analysis, opponent team analysis, match analysis) and the Certificate in Advanced Football Tactical Analysis (observation methodology in formative football, set piece analysis, goal kick and build of play analysis, high press in football).
